Tyler Perry’s 'Beauty in Black' Renewed for Season 4 at Netflix Ahead of Season 3

‎The Bellarie family story is far from over. Netflix has officially renewed Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black for Season 4, announcing the news before the drama’s third season has made its debut.
‎The decision comes as a surprise because Season 3 was previously thought to be the conclusion of the Bellarie family saga. When Netflix announced the renewal for the third season back in December, the expectation was that the popular drama would end with that chapter.

‎Instead, viewers will now have another season to look forward to.
‎Tyler Perry, who serves as the series creator, producer, writer and director, expressed his excitement about continuing the story and revealed that he still has more to explore within the world of Beauty in Black.
‎“Beauty in Black is back for season four and the Bellarie family’s story is far from finished,” said series creator, producer, writer and director Tyler Perry in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum. “There was so much more I wanted to explore and I’m grateful I get to keep telling this story. To the audience that has been on this ride with us from day one, thank you for watching and sharing it with the world. More episodes are on the way!”
‎The renewal comes after the series demonstrated significant success on the streaming platform.
‎Netflix reports that Beauty in Black Season 1 spent seven weeks in the Global Top 10 and climbed to No. 1 in 28 countries. Season 2 followed with six weeks in the Global Top 10 and reached No. 1 in 17 countries.
‎The show has also delivered a substantial number of episodes in a relatively short period since its October 2024 debut. While some streaming dramas have experienced multi-year waits between seasons, Beauty in Black has continued releasing episodes. Season 2 arrived in two parts, with the second part premiering in March 2026.
‎The series has now produced 32 episodes.
‎For now, Netflix is keeping further details about Season 4 under wraps, with more information expected to be revealed later. The streaming service has also yet to announce when Season 3 will premiere.
‎Still, fans have plenty to anticipate as the story moves forward, with Kimmie and Mallory set to return to the screen for the next chapter of the drama.
‎The Season 3 logline teases a dangerous new conflict for the characters: “Kimmie finally has a seat at the Bellarie table, but when a deadly family feud erupts, she’s forced into an uneasy alliance with Mallory. Together, they navigate a ruthless world of blackmail, revenge, and buried secrets as the family wages war against one of its own, threatening to bring the entire empire crashing down.”
‎The main cast for the upcoming season includes Taylor Polidore Williams, Crystle Stewart, Amber Reign Smith, Xavier Smalls, Ricco Ross, Julian Horton, Steven G. Norfleet, Richard Lawson, Terrell Carter, Bryan Tanaka, Charles Malik Whitfield and Debbi Morgan.
‎Although audiences are still waiting for Season 3 to arrive, Netflix’s Season 4 renewal confirms that Beauty in Black will continue beyond the chapter that was once expected to conclude the Bellarie family saga.
